Writer Homnath Gets Aswikrit Samman-–09
July 24, 2009, kathmandu. Aswikrit Bichar Sahitya Guthi (http://aswikrit.com/index.php?action=guthisanchalak) has decided to decorate Veteran writer Mr. Homnatha Suvedi, Virginia, USA, with Aswikrit Bichar Sahitya Samman-09 for his enormous contributions made for the promotion of Nepalese Literature in Diaspora. Mr. Suvedi has published 18 books to the date (8 novels, 2 poetry, 1 gajal, 2 mini-epic, 2 short stories, 1 criticism, and 2 others. He has also received 8 honors and adorations from various prestigious organizations.
This is the 3rd honor provided by the Guthis to a writer ever since it was established in 2054 (1996). Though the provides an award every year to one forgotten distinguished writer, it provides such honor very seldom but to a highly distinguished literary personality, who has spent most of his life for the promotion of Nepalese literature. It is to note here that the decision for 12th Aswikrit Bichar Sahitya Award-064 was decided some time ago in favor of writer Mrs. Bhawani Kshetry. Both of these honor and award giving ceremony are scheduled to take place on August 2, 09, at 5.00 PM in Balmunch Nepal, Anamnagar, Kathmandu.
